Description Project: Ghost Body Suit
Tools used: 3d Scan, 3DSMax, ZBrush, Photoshop

So i want to sew a ghost body suit, that fits ME perfectly. I was lucky enough to get a 3d scan of myself so...

1. I took a clean version of that mesh into ZBrush, i tried my best to clean up the clothing lines in the mesh. I painted on the seam lines i am gonna use.
2. Using the masking tool, i outlines each pattern piece and then extracted the mesh. I then decimated the hell out of the mesh so i could...
3&4. Port it into 3dsMax. I flatted the UVs on those meshes, and you can see my UV outline on the body suit
5. The UVs!
6. The outlines for those UV elements, this step is gonna need a bit more clean up before i print it out and turn it into a pattern.

what's next! printing, cutting fabric, sewing it all up! I found some EL wire and some other cool stuff i might use to make this light up. we shall see!! ^_^

Okay, that was pretty awesome, so there's no shame in that. And a picture of progress would be awesome, too! No need to rush it.

you go girl! I can take cool pictures afterwards. I know you already know many photographers but.... how many of them can create a photorealistic mech-warrior as a prop for your photo?

I am really excited to get to work on this. I'm going to be scaling the pattern and getting it to a kinkos so i can start cutting out fabrics.
i am doing a test run first on some cheap fabric i have lying around. if it works out well. ... i'll be making a trip to the fabric district to find some amazing materials.

I am having such a good time with this.

HEYYYYYY can i have your scan data for male-costume purposes?
like, i'd love to have the ability to do some complicated stuff for guys, but i lack the data.

HighVoltage221 In reply to JessicaDru [2011-08-28 19:41:41 +0000 UTC]

Hey!
I can give you my scandata...but the only issue is that all I have is scan data of my head.
Your of course more than welcome to it,but I'm not sure that's gonna help you with creating any male costumes.
...Maybe some male masks of head pieces...now,that sounds pretty interesting too. !
If you still want it,message me your email so i can send it.

BAH, i was hoping for some body scan data
when i begin modeling stuff for art and not for costumes, i will ping you for your data. i really liked that character you made of yourself. it's way awesome.
