Description
Part three of the triple pic I'm putting up at dragoncon this year. the other two were Daisy and Tigerlily, all three will be in a vertical frame together with Daisy in the middle, Tigerlily on bottom and Stars on top.I'm not putting up a detail of this because what you see is pretty much the size of the original. It's REALLY small, really small.
And again, it was more of a quicky sketch than an 'omg I'm gonna bust my ass and do something REALLY amazing'. I'm working on a few of those. I probably won't upload any till after dragoncon though. Well maybe the commission since it's gonna be badass. Maybe.. depends on if i can get it done in time.
Done in watercolors and colored pencils.

i would love to just have a dragonfly like that that would fly with me right above my shoulder and i could sneak him or her with me in my pocket during tests to make me feel more relaxed. we'd be best friends! i really love the care and detail you put into making this, it really shows and make it high quality work!

ahh it's still amazingly warm out here. I've been taking advantage of it to do as much art as possible. Once winter comes my hands will lock up again and there'll be very little art coming out of me x.x

ahh excuse me for copying and pasting an answer I gave someone else. It's just way easier ; ;
oh sure thing hun. Okay I use a LOT of misket. Lemme get hte bottle... okay the one I have is by winsor Newton and it's called "Colourless Art Masking Fluid". That's important, the colorless part. Normally miskette, frisket, etc. is dyed orange or yellow, and that can cause discoloration in your paper/board. The colorless means it won't get it all gross.
Okay, then I take a toothbrush, ar eally old ratty and STIFF one, and dip it in the masking fluid. Then I run my nail over hte bristles so that it splatters the paper with the masking fluid. Let it dry, paint your background over it, let THAT dry, then rub the masking fluid off. Et viola, you have white spots.
To get depth, I usually just rub *some* of them off, then do another darker wash over the painting so that some of hte spots are just a bit colored in. Not to blend in with the background, just to make them a little darker then stark white.
