I heard that copy and paste are lazy. Is it true?

That's what people want you to believe, when in actuality, art doesn't have rules and it's not supposed to have rules. Anybody who is working digitally and can copy and paste anything they want, yet spends hours upon hours drawing and erasing, drawing and erasing, over and over again to get a face perfectly symmetrical is straight up either an idiot, somebody who simply just didn't think to do that, both, or somebody who just likes the challenge. Yet a lot of these people, notably the idiots and the didn't-think-of-its, but especially the idiots, are often too insecure to acknowledge that they could do it differently and make it easier on themselves, and in some desperate attempt to get validation that they really shouldn't need because there was nothing actually that invalid in the first place (again, they could just like the challenge, or at least they could just use that as their excuse) they'll grasp at straws to invalidate the easier method, and that's how words like "lazy" and "cheating" and sarcastic utterances of "Sure, if you want to do it the EASY way!" get thrown around.
It's not even just in art, people everywhere hate finding out that somebody did it easier. There was a story that made headlines a few years ago about a girl scout who got denied some kind of award because the amount of cookies she sold to justify earning the award in the first place, she had sold outside of a medicinal marijuana dispensary, and they considered it cheating. I still don't get it, is that really cheating? How is that cheating? The goal of selling something is to, you know, sell it and she went and she strategically chose where to sell her cookies based on where they would be most likely to get bought up in droves. That just sounds more like plain old ingenuity to me. She should have gotten an extra reward for thinking to do that, not have the one she earned fair and square taken away. We as a society have just become so obsessed with bootstrap success stories, we idolize people who got where they were through hard work, as admirable as that may be, that we never collectively stopped to wonder WHY it is we do that to the point where we straight up punish intelligence and efficiency, which is kinda messed up. I mean, why SHOULDN'T you want to do it the easy way?

Not only time , you could try out really risky stuff ...
Often I sit in front of a picture and think :"How would it look like if I add this and that ..." but I end up not doing it , because I'm to afraid to ruin the picture ^^
