This is one of the most breathtaking and gorgeous examples of fan art that I've seen about this movie! most pictures of Jareth and Sarah feature them hand in hand or in some kind of grim confrontation. But this shows a wild imagination that vividly captures one of the most pressing questions about the movie: Is any of it real? Or is it just in Sarah's head? If the latter, does that make it more or less of a fantasy? As Dumbledore once said, just because it's all in your head, doesn't mean it's not real.
