The white flecks on his face are actually snowflakes, also the bubbles to the far right are from his mate who just submerged just before the shot.Related content

An unusual bird. (At least it isn't common everywhere.) I saw a type of Grebe briefly here where we live (on a small lake) about 3 weeks ago and haven't seen one since. It didn't hang around and it was just too far away for a good photo but close enough I was able to get it's picture and identify it in my Audubon book.Β
