Description
This is a 12x18 oil that I was commisioned to do by a friend who was a big TNG fan. Originally, the idea was to do it in B+W, but at the last minute it was suggested that I broaden the palette to make the inclusion of the red laser scope possible. The painting was done without any preliminary drawing, just the B+W underpainting. I'm pretty happy with the likeness all things considered. Now...where to find the right frame?Related content

That's incredible, especially considering your lack of preliminary drawing.

It's also easily recognisable, which is good.

Very nice oil. You were able to blend it so smoothly (at least of what I can see) that there are no brush strokes visible. While I usually like to see the directionality of the strokes and slight uneveness for character, this really fits with the subject. This goes without saying that your Locutus looks spot on to the actual subject.

Yeah, it's oil alright. My friend is a big fan of TNG and I'm a fan of all the shows in general, so when he asked me to do it I was more than happy to oblige. I've always wanted to try my hand at Worf or Spock, or Quark. Maybe one day I'll give them a try.
