I really really love how you coloured the bit where the hair overlaps the eye and how you coloured the dress. (I suck at doing folds T_T)

The thing that caught my eye, wasnt that it was a DD (Congrats, By the way...) But, the colors and shading, of how smooth they were, and the sutle look of life in this :3

So, believe me, I can do hands. The hands in deviation are concealed by the dress, I didn't leave em out because I can't do hands.

Haha, I really didn't "hide" them on purpose..I actually painted my old art room door in high school with a composition that was entirely made of hands! That comment is funny to me because hands are my favourite subject-every one has endless character and expression! Of course..the hands were not cartoony/anthro in any way, I've moved on since I did this 3 years ago! Thanks for commenting though!

OMG. That door is absolutely amazing. You should teach me how to draw hands after all. 
And, way to control the situation of your haters, I do commend you for it. Most artists will throw a gigantic pity-fest, but you handled it with a cool head.

i have to agree with an above comment. its very pretty and i compliment your ability to draw (because i cant) but its not really DD worthy.. regardless i think its very beautiful..and i hope i didnt offend in any way

seriously. If you can't draw spmething as simple as hands, I just don't get why it'sa DD. The colouring is sloppy and the sprakled effects are cheesy.

Your comment was hardly a critique. I did not hide the hands because I cannot draw hands.
(Even if you did critique, this work is 3 years old and I did it when I was 14. It's not very useful being critiqued 3 years after a piece. )

No, I'm not offended. It seems most DD's get these comments. You can't please everyone. However, I prefer not being told that. Because I have no control over whether it's a DD or not.
If people wish to complain about the choices, they should complain to the gallery director not me because that's not within my realm.

Anyone can get a DD. It has nothing to do with the overall quality or the professionalism behind it. It has to do with what th GD likes and feels they like enough to feature and share with the rest of dA. I personally love it. The shading and colors are fabulous
