Description
Starfleet's hand was arguably forced in the Meragu Skirmish of 2361. The USS Rizal's taskforce had been monitoring a hostile Cardassian battlegroup close to the border. After hours of observation and repeated warnings, the enemy ships changed course and attempted to attack a local mining outpost. The Starfleet vessels promptly decided to intervene. Using a novel warp jump tactic, the three pronged formation stunned the Cardassian force as their ships instantaneously materialized behind them. A coordinated volley of weapons fire ensued and largest enemy combatants were disabled. The remaining hostile ships were then forced out of the Federation side.
