I love this series; muted coloring, facial expressions and poses but this one in perticular the hand coving the breast seems unnatural, as if hiding the breast is its only reason for being there. This is as opposed to say the one where your arms are crossed which conveysyour mood and perhaps a timidness that the rest of the pose and look falls in line with. This pose seems more fierce (maybe? bad word choice). Anyway, again love the series and your work.

Thanks for the thoughtful comments. I agree. I think that what you are reacting to on the hand covering the breast, is actually the model's own idea of humility. Fawn never shows her full breasts. She is a "modest model" which to many of us seems a contradiction. I think many of her shots would be better without the modesty, but I do appreciate and respect the fact that models are individuals with their own ideas. Fawn's ideas aren't usually about being modest, they are usually about being "fierce" as you put it. That is her personality and her nature. But she is a modest woman too. So we get both in this shot, and it has integrity. She is fierce, sexy, and modest for real. Who ever said woman were not enigmatic?

I'm pretty new to your work but now that you mention it, I don't remember seeing her fully exposed. I think it's a nice change that you only do what your model is comfortable with. This way we not only get to see your personality reflecting in your work but her's as well. A "modest model" is quite a rare thing. You can tell that it's not that she's timid, looking at her other shots so you can tell where her comfort line is. I think this gives her personality and instead of having "just some model" you've got Miss Fawn.

Thank you for sharing. I love your work and I'm looking forward to more.

Yea, I see you understand! One has to see the models as actual complex women, not just pretty 3-D objects. Their ideas and personalities make the shots more personal and much, much better. In fact, Fawn often does more thinking and planning than I, on a given shoot. She is the creative force in many of our projects. Not just another pretty face/body.

And that is why I think she stands out so well. I've seen her cosplay (and what I now know to be your photos) on cosplay.com. She is very skilled at her craft and it only makes sense she has a creative brain. I agree with your comment or looking at the women as being complex and not just 3-D objects. I've seen alot of work through college, on here and out in the world for just shots of people posing, leaving a lack of personality. For this reason I find myself drawn to self portraits but it's refreshing to know that there are photographers and models that work together to take great photos.

Yea, that's one great thing about working with the same models many times, we get to be great friends and the real understanding, trust, and appreciation for each other leads to even better images.

I agree. And you can tell by looking at these.
