In this timeline, Ruby is one of the few keybearers left not known to Yen Sid. An ancestor of hers(not Summer) was present at the fall of Scala ad Caelum(implied to have happened). Fleeing to Radiant Garden, this ancestor eventually gave birth, eventually leading to Summer Rose. Summer perished during the fall of Radiant Garden, and having inherited the power of the keyblade from her mom, Ruby and Yang escaped to Traverse Town.

During the events of KH1, Ruby slowly learns of her power over the keyblade and quickly becomes a defender of Traverse Town. She meets Sora around the time Sora goes searching for the keyhole to Traverse Town. Inspired by Sora, Ruby and Yang depart in their own gummi ship to stop further worlds from falling to darkness.

By the time KH2 happens, Team RWBY has been formed, with the sisters meeting Weiss(through a series of events involving Luxord, implying Weiss's mysterious origins), and Blake, who survived the destruction of her world(that being the original FFXIV), but has since bonded and chosen to stick with with her teammates.
