O Dragon, my dragon...Originally Spike did this cute pose in the episode, I just use it as a reference for this one.

The second the students were introduced, I immediately went with Smolder.
Season 8 is in the books and, well? I chose wisely.
Nothing against the other 5, but there's something about her that I really liked.
And besides, I figured that since Spike didn't have any dragons to relate to in Ponyville......my theory is that Ember sent Smolder there for friendship lessons and teaching Spike the way of the dragon basically. Minus the nasty side effects.
