Description
Based on STOMP THE ENEMY, song by Satsuki ga Tenkomori and art by Macro: [link]Visor and Hairsquares made by me with 3 kinds of plastic, 3 kinds of glue, vinyl tape and tears of both anguish and victory.

Convention floor shot from Sakuracon 2011. Less dramatic than my other shots, but shows the colors of the visor more as they looked in person.

It's all plastic actually. The designs for the visor, I made them in photoshop and then had them printed at Office Depot onto clear plastic, which they still do for old school overhead projectors. Then I just cut and overlaid the printed sheets onto the white semi-opaque front

There's not really a base, the whole thing was made from scratch and it straps directly to my head (it'd be waaaay to heavy to be supported by ears like glasses)

Is there any way you could tell me how you made those? I'd really appreciate it.

It's a little hard to describe since I was figuring it out as I went, but I'll try and explain at least a bit. The visor and the hair things are basically hollow plastic frames. The shape was very geometric so I built it using all flat plastic. I made a pattern for it first to fit my face using posterboard, then used that as a basis for building.
The lights are LEDs on a strip usually used on showy cars stuck along the top. I used the kind of semi-opaque plastic used for commercial signs for all the parts where light would shine through, then I printed the design on transparency sheets and overlaid it.
That's the general gist of it. A lot of it was trial and error, though I wish I could say I planned it all perfectly from the start, haha.
