no not really More of a chimera. ... I haven't actually heard of any dragon concepts where their diets consist completely of minerals.

that and his wings are supposed to have membranes rather like an insect... among other things. (he has fur too.)

His name is "Chibbi" btw... ... Draco always makes me think of Dragon Heart.

Great minds think alike I was also thinking of dragon Heart. Also why did you name the poor thing Chibbi.

P.S. It actually is a common concept that some dragons eat minerals, precious metals, and gems. it was believed in some areas of the world that, that is the reason they collect them.

I had a friend who was talking about dressing her infant up in a chocobo costume, only instead of "Chocobo" she said "Chibbi". I just liked it. ... that and the general consensus was that this critter was terribly cute!

I said "only" ... Chibbi cannot consume organic materials... It only eats metals and rocks. It's also one of a kind, and genderless. Since it was supposed to be a mesh of various creatures, both mythological and not, it doesn't exactly qualify as a dragon.

I honestly don't think it looks that much like a dragon. .... it's alot more mammalian than draconic creatures are by legend or by popular depiction...

it has Antenna for heaven's sake. and hooves on the back feet. (it has six legs for another.) it does have horns and a long semi-reptilian tail but that's about it as far as draconic goes. even though it has "fingers" on it's wings the membranes are supposed to be like a bugs, (butterfly specifically) it's fore most legs are paws (with six toes and two dewclaws.) , and it's head was designed to be vaguely lupine.

I really can't see how you can say it's a dragon. especially considering all the mythology you claim to know.

I say it looks like a dragon because there are a few dragons that DO have fur but there are very FEW of them.

P.S. It is very rare for butterflies to have those "fingers" it is actually more common to moths.

some people have drawn dragons with fur this is true... but that is the exception, not the rule, and technically they aren't true "dragons" either. according to mythology they were scaled lizard or snake-like creatures that had sharp teeth and claws and blew fire....

now aside from teeth and claws, Chibbi has none of those features. So by definition he's not a dragon.

A chimera according to myth was a monster created through combining parts of multiple creatures together.

Chibi somewhat fits that.

I'm aware, but chibi has butterfly like wings anyways.
