Description
This model was made using Blender 3D software.I had the idea for a floating tree, and ran with it, and this is the final result. I went for a cherry blossom tree as my tree of choice. Hope you like it

did that take forever to render? i know just how horrid 3d programs could become once polygon count rise. but i truly believe the effort was worth it, i love how complicated yet simple it looks, you've really done well.Β
great piece

Thanks for the complement
It did take a quite a while to render, but I have a pretty good pc, so it wasn't too bad. I usually leave things to render overnight so I don't really notice the time it takes, but I believe this one took about 4 hours to render lol. I used like 2000 samples or something ridiculous to capture all the detail

lol, yea same here. i have a good one but still, trying to render trees and all, especially hair and fur (i used 3ds max, a lot heavier than blender)Β
wow, i am impressed, 3ds max varies between samples and light modes. so i think i hit like 20k once. it was pure hell to render lolΒ

I just need to go back and work on the rock. I made it at a time when Β I knew almost nothing about compositing, so it turned out much more green than intended lol.

just make an entirely new one
trust me it'd be worth it to see what you can make now and how different it'd come outΒ
my teacher used to challenge us like that

Hmm, I guess so but believe it or not this model wasn't very challenging to make besides the lighting. There is a plugin built into Blender that basically lets you use sliders to create a tree (its not quite that simple, but it's easier than actually modeling it manually). All I had to do was add the leaf textures.

3ds max has a set of trees as well they're similar to an extent. but still, there's always a struggle with lightening and materialsΒ
still a great job

Very cool! I am not familiar with 3D programs but this looks very well made. The cherry blossom tree has some lovely detail, very pretty ^.^

Thanks! It was my first attempt at making a tree and it turned out surprisingly well

It looks good and I love the concept, but I think the picture overall would appeal more to the eye if the sky had more colors, or maybe a darker blue for greater contrast. Keep at it!

Thanks for the feedback!
The background is actually an HDR image that wraps around the entire tree, and lights the scene, making things look much more realistic. I probably could have played with some of the settings on the image, but I just never thought about it lol.

Cute, can do with small improvements like more padding on top and bottom and improved texture for the rock.

Thanks for the reply! I'm glad you liked it, and I see what you mean about the textures. I used 2 textures on the rock, and one overpowered the other unfortunately.
