Aslejgspk there are so many other things I should be doing like trying to find a gdamn job but I really needed this it was so much fun to draw y'all have no idea--

My latest DnD character, Asper Norixius the Blood Hunter, she'll be replacing Locket in our 5e group as that campaign got a bit halted and we decided to start anew. This time we have PHB as our source instead of just basic rules, so of course I had to be the odd one out and take the extra special public homebrew class : D I'm lucky the dm tolerates me and my rules-lawyering and lets me get away with it too<3

I am so. Goshdarn. Happy with this. For some reason it feels so long since I last did a proper character portrait, and man did I need this. I've been feeling pretty down and unsure about my current artistic skills and not being on the professional level, and while there obviously is room for growth this helped me feel more comfortable with where I'm at, and what I enjoy doing the most. I like the pose, the outfit and the colours in it, the shading, the dirt detailing and the little platform. I admit I got hugely inspired by the new Crit Role character art by Ariana Orner, especially Fjord and the colours on his armour. The platform was inspired by epebe on Twitter, after he made a couple statue-like character portraits, and I wanted to try something similar if it'd help make the character look more tangible. The sword is pretty much way out of proportions and perspective, but eh, I like the lightning effect on it.

I can't even remember when I made such an openly edgelord of a character, I tend to make em more happy-go-lucky and friendly type to keep up party morale. And even Asper's more rash and competitive than a true angsty edgelord, tho we as players tend to be more relaxed and joke a lot, which makes playing a doom and gloom character a challenge in and of itself. Still, I can definitely appreciate the appeal of dark and brooding characters : D

Well, here she is. We'll see how long she lasts, good news is I already have a list of ideas for backups if she doesn't-- Honestly the best part about her for me is that when we sat down to plan our new characters, I had a list of ideas but decided to do something completely new anyway : D Mostly cause others chose same classes or races I was planning on using, but also cause I remembered that Blood Hunter exists and it tickled me just right to use it.

I could talk about characters and dnd all fricking day if you let me, so I'm just gonna shut up now.
