It was fun, until YouTube started to become sensitive and everybody was starting to get triggered. Gone are the days where everyone could speak freely and if you were bullied, you'd just block them and went about your day.Β

on a serious note, as someone that's practically lived on the internet since 98 (i am a woman, so this isn't some 4chan anon glorification thing), i think a lot of it is because of "it's popular now, it sucks." Back in the early days of the internet, only the "nurrrrds" would be on the internet more than an hour a day. now everybody is on the internet. So the environment moved away from the majority people online having similar mindsets, personalities, and sense of humor.... to your mom and your high school bully will wreck you on every social media platform for the next 20 years. People had their spaces and they stuck to them back then. Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and Instagram throws everybody in the same cesspool and sees what kind of crap floats up to the top.

Yeah, that's pretty fair summation of the problem. Disparity is one of the main calling cards of humankind. The more of us there are gathered in one place the more chaos, havoc, and discord is likely to be unleashed. It's like having too many cooks in the kitchen at once, or too many subplots in a movie...before too long all you're going to wind up with is a mess.
