Honestly, the history surrounding this special is more fascinating to me than the special itself. For instance, the ending scene where they rescue the toys from Misfit Island wasn't there in the original run, and kids had to write letters to the station to have it added in later airings (and this resulted in a lot of cuts and alterations to fit a 45-Minute runtime until it was later released to home video and so on).

Or how this movie was accidentally copyrighted to 1164 instead of 1964 due to a roman numerical error (which MIGHT'VE later been exploited by GoodTimes Entertainment to make their own versions but don't quote me on that...)
