Here's a small step by step. i know its not much but i always usually start with a tonal so i can see where im gonna lay down my lights. the colors are done with overlay layers and color layers where i kinda just force it into what i have in my head. sometimes i'll actually just make a quick color sketch so i know if the colors are gonna work. keeping it simple is somehting i learned the hard way. if you're work like this, i find it useful to start with one light source and then add in other as you work but its best to add them like towards the end after youre done rendering out your main light source. hopefully i can put together better step by step material for you guys in near future!
