Description
That "Nutty Professor" of aviation science, Anton Veeblefitzer, strikes again. An enormous 6 engine monster, with tons of guns, and outrageous range, was designed to counter the Western B-36 threat.
Prof. Veeblefitzer was unsure about where to put the center of balance, so he played it safe, and placed landing wheels both fore and aft. This resulted in an unusual characteristic of the craft teeter-tottering around the airfield. To solve this problem, the crew was instructed to crowd the aft section, for take off, and then the forward section for landing.

Cool gallery.
My father fought in WW2, on board CV-6 Enterprise ( yeah! I'm old).
Grew up in San Diego listening to a lot of great war stories from the dad's of my school friends.
I love Japanese weapons. Exotic.
Best, Jimbo

Wow... big ship... long ship! Someone is overcompensating... of course it's Japanese... so really they're all overcompensating! I do like the unique landing gear arrangement!

Thank you!
But WHAT landing gear?
I can't figure out if it's a tail or nose sitter.
And I drew the darn thing!

I'm betting that with a full tank and bomb-load it sits on the tail gear, but coming home empty it sits on the nose!

I figured it out!
When taking off, the crew run to the aft section, to make it a tail sitter, and when landing, they run to the fore section, to make it a nose sitter.
I are smart!
