Description
In order to keep his design team looking busy, so that they wouldn't be conscripted to fight in the army, Prof. Veeblefitzer ordered his team to create as many bizarre looking forms as they could imagine. A. H. loved bizarre. "The more bizarre, the BETTER!!!" Shrieked A. H., wiping the drool off his mustache. Thus was borne the Ve-641 "Y Wing" fighter.
Looking like an inverted Y, when viewed from ahead, the design offered no improvement over other conventional aircraft, but to A.H. "Das ist kool!"
Pictured is the eighth pre production prototype. It was delivered in desert camouflage with the promise that it would be useful when North Africa was re-invaded (This is while the Red Army was at the gates).
The craft looked threatening while taxing around an airfield, when fuel was available. Take offs were forbidden, as the machine tumbled wildly upon lift off.
"It was fun to strafe" observed American fighter pilots.

I'm guessing the name also comes from the fact that upon it's presumed capture, Officers sent to examine the aircraft stated "Why?"
This was shortly before a hapless test pilot attempted to fly the thing and promptly cartwheeled the machine across the aerodrome in a spectacular display of both idiocy and beauty.

WOW!!!
That--"sputter"-- is entirely accurate!
The pilots had to be dragged, at gun point, screaming, to climb up on the wing, which had no hand/foot holds, and then try and crawl into the cockpit, and then try to control the insane thing!

Such a great design! They just need better test pilots! I'd volunteer, but I'm still in Switzerland eating chocolates and dallying with the ladies!

Very interesting asymmetrical aircraft design.
Were you inspired by anything before making this?

It's times like these I wonder why my mind automatically thinks I wonder if I could build a functioning version of this...I'm at a loss for why though

This is one of your most bizarre designs yet, I love it.
