Description
Here's a portrait I did a few years ago of my character Princess Voluptua, from my webcomic "The Inexplicable Adventures of Bob!" located at this convenient bobadventures.comicgenesis.comVolly is heir to the throne of the local space empire. Her people have legally owned the Earth for eons, but they leave us alone for the most part, having designated Earth as a nature preserve and mankind as wildlife.
When dealing with humans, she uses a spaceshifter device to look like a beautiful woman with very long hair. Her real form resembles a giant butterfly.

Not bad, good concept and I love the crop and angle of this piece, though if I may add some constructive criticism the line art is solid but I can see you've put the colour layer on top, a better method in future might be to turn the line art into a transparent mask layer and colour underneath it, that also lets you change the line colours more easily as the colour and detail are essentially on separate bits of the layer. I also like to do shading and highlights on separate layers so they can be adjusted without spoiling other layers, but that's something each artist does differently so best to use whatever works for you.
The use of hair texture was a good idea and you've git the contours well but it would blend better if it was just a little smoother or slightly blurred.
I like the colour choices for the wings. With a little adjustment I think you could get that stained glass effect you mentioned.
Overall though this pic does have a "wow" factor to it, very striking, and good job for an old pic.

This is actually quite a few years old, and there are things in it I would do differently now. Though it's true that I really don't end up working in color all that often, since between the comic and my animation work, most of my stuff is black and white line art.

I realise that from the description, it's still quite a striking image though, these were just things that struck me when looking at it, sorry if it's stuff you feel you've already improved on.
