For real though, I think we can seriously ponder about this. Toby said there would be only one ending to Deltarune (before it went on Steam with Chapter 2 and the description added an "?" after saying it).
However, it is said in chapter 1 when losing/dying for the first time that "you have reached AN END". So the question is legit: what does this means if it has to be taken literally? Multiple ends after all or will the game end like this no matter what we do? With darkness covering the world if we choose not to try again...
Everyone's trying to figure out wether will really have a single ending or not but maybe we already have one and should study its case
