Description
"First, Uwe Boll! Now, you!"--
Another Anger meme, this time attacking the movie Pixels starring Adam Sandler and company.
--
Of course, I predicted it would fail. They just took cool classic video game characters and Sandler just put them in a movie with a kinda cool concept but poor delivery. It was nothing more than just an excuse to bring people in and pay to see this stuff. I'm sure some people like it, but only for the effects, action, and nostalgia of the video games.

Eh, at least Pixels have Mario, the guy NOTORIOUSLY absent in Wreck-It Ralph.
In fact, you can say that the Mario cameo is better than the entire movie itself.

Well I first heard about the movie when I came across this review by Peter Finn, check it out: www.youtube.com/watch?v=64QpR2…
Anyway, thanks for showing me that review by NC, that`s given me more of an idea of how horrid it is. I have never played the actual games myself, but I have read that as much of how bad the movie is, it has almost NOTHING to do with the game series. And after watching NC`s review I vow NEVER to watch the movie, but I guess this is just how bad a game movie can get. It`s no wonder Uwe Boll has such a bad reputation for ruining video games.
I have however heard that the movie even has a sequel which is actually better, because it`s directed without Uwe Boll. But I`m not really going to bother with that either because I heard that`s quite bad in itself.

Well thanks for that as well, it`s yet another example of Uwe Boll`s crappy talent. I vow NEVER to watch any movies written, produced or directed by Uwe Boll because like these guys say, they make NO sense.
Well as I said I won`t even bother with the sequel to "Alone in the Dark", but I may check out some reviews on it myself as well. By the way, have you watched that review I gave you of "Alone in the Dark" by Peter Finn yet?

Well, I think this guy has done well at reviewing certain movies in spite of not going into that much detail. But he does go into creative depth about some movies he hates (this is the same guy who`s done the 5 part review on the horrid 4th Home Alone movie, have you seen that 5 part video review (with those links I gave you) yet?) and he has done some nice short reviews on movies he loves as well.

Exactly! It seriously makes you wonder what the writers and producers of "Home Alone 4" where thinking! It`s like they never even watched the other Home Alone movies, and it`s a serious wonder WHY they brought back Kevin and some of his family, with a bunch of inferior actors who look NOTHING like the originals (I mean SERIOUSLY, I thought movie producers had MORE sense than that)! With all those inferior actors, plot holes and it`s low budget production it looks more to me like a fan made movie. I mean, I could image a bunch of casual fans doing a fan made sequel like that, NOT a bunch of professional movie producers! WHAT the heck where they THINKING!!!

danielnewton In reply to JIMENOPOLIX [2015-09-09 23:23:47 +0000 UTC]
Well yes, aside from being the worst sequel, I`d definitely say it`s the WORST film I have ever seen! I CAN`T imagine any other movie being as horrid as this one! Seeing how bad certain movies and sequels like "Never Ending Story 3" appear to be, this one is far WORSE! I could probably write a WHOLE essay to describe everything wrong with "Home Alone 4", the problems are just ENDLESS! Although, to be honest I actually did like the movie when I was younger (aged 12), but then as I grew older I found myself hating it more and more, and nowadays I am one of the MOST who hates it. A few people like "Home Alone 4" but I`m thankfully not one of them anymore.
Oh, and you know what? I heard the producers of "Home Alone 4" actually did try to bring back one of the original actors from the first 2 movies, and that was Daniel Stern who played Marv (one of the wet bandit burglars). But Daniel Stern refused to re-pries his role as Marv because he hated the movie script, he turned it down by calling it "An insult, total garbage". Now SERIOUSLY, if that is true that should have given those STUPID producers the hint not to go ahead with the movie! But for some stupid reason they GO ahead with it anyway, and disgracefully hire French Stuart to play Marv, who actually portrays him more like the other wet bandit (Harry)!

"I CAN`T imagine any other movie being as horrid as this one!" Son of the Mask? (Which is the WORST film/sequel I'VE ever seen in my life!)

Interesting.
Well, it must be clear then that all they cared about was the money. People would buy this kind of stuff because it's a sequel to something they happened to like and it had a familiar name. Only did they realize that once they watched it, they made a big mistake in buying it as their minds started to grow and were offended that they were tricked into buying total garbage.

I haven`t heard of that movie you just mentioned, What`s it all about?
Well yes, I guess you`r right, the producers probably just cared about the money. Although someone on YouTube told me they where probably just drunk when they made "Home Alone 4". The movie would have been better had they tried to make a different story (like "Home Alone 3"), if they could not find any lookalikes for the original actors, and therefore given the characters different names. I mean I thought it was a different story when I first bought it on DVD, but I was really SHOCKED when I found it was actually back on Kevin! As you just said, anyone who loved the original movies would attempt to buy these rubbish sequels, due to them being sequels to the movies they loved, and then get shocked to discover what they`d been tricked into buying.
Oh, and there is something ells which shocked me about "Home Alone 4". This was not part of their plans to start with, but later on in production the producers came up with the idea of having it spanning a Home Alone TV series (many of the actors had clauses in their contracts for such a show). But LUCKILY the movie was panned so badly by fans and critics for it`s inferior connection to the first 2 movies (and it`s low production budget) the TV series was cancelled, GOOD JOB TOO!!!

Well, here's the review of the movie, also by the Nostalgia Critic. He gets down the EXACT SAME REACTIONS that I have towards the movie. Practically no different reaction left out! (Be wary, if you get the slightest bit intimidated by ugly CGI effects, especially when applied to live-action humans, you might have a hard time watching this review; every single CGI effect in this movie gives me a heart attack! LITERALLY, a heart attack! My heart jumps whenever an scary, butt-ugly CGI effect appears on screen and it looks so unnatural!)

Maybe that person was just imagining what the thought process of the film might have gone.
--
And that's why I will try to put effort into my films in the future, so I make sure people have fun watching these films and therefore they would be worth buying.
--
Well... what possibilities could they have for a Home Alone TV series? It would just be the same story over and over in each episode: the kid gets stuck at home alone and... stuff happens... until the family comes back and apologizes for leaving him. If they did a TV series based around that formula, it would establish that these are the worst parents in the world and the show would immediately become boring. So, yeah, they wouldn't have luck with a TV series anyway.

Oh right, I remember seeing parts of the original "Mask" movie, but it was such a long time ago and I can`t remember it very well. I also remember the animated series on TV. Anyway I`ve watched the review and I didn`t have a hard time watching it, but I can pretty much see the badness about the movie. Although I don`t personally know what to think since I don`t remember the original movie that well.
Yes, it is an imagination. But I think that person has a good point as to what was going on through the producer`s brains when they made the movie.
When I get into the movie industry, I will also make sure I put as much effort into the movies as possible, and keep the sequels true to the spirit of the original movies so that they would be enjoyable for adults and children of all ages.
Yeah, same here. I can`t understand why the producers wanted to make a TV series out of "Home Alone 4", it just makes no sens as it wouldn`t have been worth watching. It probably would have SUCKED even more than the movie, WHY don`t movie makers just learn to leave things alone? But as I said, it`s a good job the movie was panned so badly, since it prevented the TV series from EVER being made.

JIMENOPOLIX In reply to danielnewton [2015-09-12 00:34:42 +0000 UTC]
Well, honestly, the original Mask kinda freaked me out as a kid, too, mostly due to the CGI popping out of Jim Carrey's head. But now, years later, it didn't look as frightening as I remembered it.
And then there was this movie, which I saw on TV... twice... unfortunately... and it gave me a heart attack every time something seemed to jump out at me!
--
Great ideas.
--
Well, again, it's all part of money-making businesses. They see something is successful because it had made lots of money, which gets them thinking that people really must like it, so they force the studios to make more of that stuff that people love, even if the studios or directors don't know where to go from there. And once those products start sucking, people no longer like them, get tired of them, and stop paying money to see them, thus they stop getting money and they are no longer made. No great product could ever be left alone without making more of it just because they think people like it and will pay to see more of it. At least Disney Animation makes different movies every year. They don't make sequels to their original products... except The Rescuers Down Under... and now soon Frozen 2... and maybe Wreck-It Ralph 2...

danielnewton In reply to JIMENOPOLIX [2015-09-12 23:12:16 +0000 UTC]
Ok, I see your point about the "Mask" movies. There are certain gruesome violence that can give me a heart attack, such as some of the gruesome actions in "The Simpsons: Tree House of Horror" episodes, but there was nothing in the review of "Son of the Mask" that gave me such heart attack.
Oh yeah, money is the real explanation towards the making of these crappy sequels, and it`s only when people get tired of it when they`ll stop making them. I`m glad "Home Alone 5" did better than "Home Alone 4", but still I feel it could have been a lot better with even more effort.
Well Disney are separated in a series of studios and it was the television studio that made most of the cheap sequels which where made from the 90s to the 2000s, some of them where pretty good and others not so good. Oh, so the main Disney studio is going to make sequels to "Frozen" and "Wreck it Ralph", I hope they`ll be worth watching!

JIMENOPOLIX In reply to danielnewton [2015-09-13 00:44:43 +0000 UTC]
Oh, I actually LOVE the original Mask now. It no longer frightens me like back then. I consider it one of my most favorite movies.
But it's not the gruesome violence I'm talking about. I'm talking about the imagery. Watching live-action people (and babies) deforming their faces in cartoonish manners frightens me. It feels like a Ren and Stimpy movie (yeah, I'm not a fan of Ren and Stimpy either; they frighten me just as much as that movie).
Oh, and I like The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror episodes.
--
I'm kinda curious about that one, as I hear it came out recently (or rather a few years ago).
--
Yeah, but I wasn't referring to Disney TV studio for the sequels. I know they're the one who make the sequels. I was referring to the main studio itself.
And yes, there are news of Frozen 2 being made. The short Frozen Fever was kinda-sorta the beginning for a sequel. And the directors said they wanted to explore a bit more, so they began thinking of a sequel.
And from what I hear, the voice of Ralph, John. C. Riley, already signed up for a sequel to Wreck-It Ralph, which means it may happen.
If these movies do happen, then Disney Animation will be known for having made only 3 sequels at the moment.

Oh right, I get what you are saying now, sorry if I mis-understood some of what you said. I see what you mean now about the imagery with all those deformed faces on live-action people in the sequel to "The Mask" movie.
Anyway, I`m no longer a fan of "The Simpsons", but when I watched those "Treehouse of Horror" episodes they where a few actions which I felt were too gruesome, and made me wonder how they made their way on screen. Especially this ending scene of one episode where a fog turns the whole family inside out!! SERIOUSLY how did such a gruesome scene like that make it`s way to the screen, it`s FAR too gruesome for me to cope with and I can`t bear thinking about it!!
Well, I haven`t seen any video reviews so far on "Home Alone 5", but if I ever find any I`ll give you the link (the movie came out in 2012, 10 years after "Home Alone 4").
Well I`m curious to see those Disney sequels when, and if they come out. By the way there is actually another sequel which was made by the main studio. That sequel was "Fantasia 2000" and it was released theatrically like the original "Fantasia" movie. So therefore, there are actually 2 sequels currently made by the main studio and if these new ones come out, it will be 4 sequels made by the studio.
