Earlier on this year I was given the opportunity to shoot a friends wedding informally, which gave me the chance to shoot some portraiture and think in a different way to what I normally shoot. I don't normally get the opportunity to shoot people so it was a steep learning curve to get the shots I wanted. It's definitely helped me to visualise what I want before I start to shoot. With this, I was after a classic shot that would look good on their wall to remind them of the big day, and found that colour was just too distracting from the composition. I love the contrasty black and white with the deep red.
