Description
Final pencils to this cover with all the background buildings which were ultimately covered up by the trade dress and book logo. At the end of the day, I guess I could leave the top open knowing that but sometimes covers get turned into posters and there's the part of me that is obsessively completist and needs to draw it all in.Inspirations for this cover were the classic Daredevil cover by Jack Kirby of DD vs Captain America and the Mike Zeck Cap vs Wolverine cover!

Does all the penciling and erasing on the page damage it? I guess I must just be a little heavy handed.

once some that had worked for you told me, that the most efficient advice you gave that person was, to work from the inside out. looking at your linework and the finished piece kind of makes me understand that a little bit better.
By the way, do you use any patterns or so, when you draw backgrounds?

Do you find it a little more challenging to come up with a 'futuristic' or 'sci fi' type land scape rather than drawing a more 'accurate' city landscape? From buildings to design to layout... or do you feel it's pretty much the same exact thing, when you're drawing?

In Betty Edwards' book Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain, she states that part of the mystique of an artist is that they seem to create life from nothing but graphite and paper.
If I were to choose some works to demonstrate this effect, this would be one of them. The poses, the facial expressions, all the little details and fiddly bits; the drawing seems so alive, even though it's a single frame suspended forever on paper. Great work!

how in the DEUCE do you keep the art fluid with all that rendering? Whenever I try and "refine" my gesture lines I lose all of the life within that drawing. Looks good man. Keep it up.

Now I am not a fan of superman to much. I dont know just not my type of char, BUT your superman stuff is awsome. I mean I dont think there is a hero you couldnt make look cool. This is some amazing artwork, reminding me why you are one of my all time favorite comic book artist.
