Description

A second version of my round 2/3 layout for the Australian "Wheel of fortune" with an extra twist!

I have replaced the green 230 space with a "750 gamble" space. If a contestant lands on this space, they will immediately be given a choice - either take the gamble or forfeit the money and choose a correct letter to stay in control.

If a player chooses to take the gamble, they will be asked a general knowledge question by the host and given 3 seconds to answer the question. If a contestant answers the question correctly, 750 points will be added to their score and a randomly-selected free letter will be revealed on the board. If a contestant answers the question incorrectly or fails to answer within the 3 second time limit, their score will be deducted by 750 points and their turn will end

Of course, if a player chooses not to take the gamble, they must choose a correct consonant in the puzzle to retain their turn but no points are rewarded for a correct guess. A player who guesses an incorrect consonant after refusing to take the gamble simply loses their turn but don't get penalised points-wise.

Note

- If a player with a score of less than 750 takes the gambling question and fails, their score is set back to zero rather than going into negative numbers

- If the gambling question is answered correctly, the bonus letter can either be a consonant or a vowel

- If a player gains a free letter by correctly answering the question, and the bonus letter is a red mystery letter, the 750 points will be doubled to 1500

- If a player has solved a previous puzzle (thus securing their money from "Bankrupt" in a future round), even secured points from the previous round can be deducted by a player taking the gamble and answering the question incorrectly

- The "Gamble" space is a fixed space on the wheel and can be landed on at any time

- If the host lands on this space when giving the wheel a final spin, the "Gamble" space is out of play and the host must spin the wheel again

This wedge is a hybrid of the mystery wedge, the "500 Gamble" space from the final days of the UK version and a feature from the German version "Glucksrad" which gives the player the option of gambling a certain amount of money/points by answering a general knowledge question
