Confound it, Ted!I would like to make plain that I have never even opened a Nancy Drew book. I have however seen four movies starring Bonita Granville as Nancy Drew, and Frankie Thomas as her crossdressing boyfriend Ted.

I love those movies so much! Really, just think Ted would do anything for nancy! However, I don't think it confirms in those movies that they are boyfriend and girlfriend. I wish it would though!

FYI, they changed his name from Ned to Ted because Ned was considered old-fashioned at the time. >_<
Ned in the books is a lot cooler than how they portrayed him in the movies.

He was also a bit of an idiot in the movies. Poor Ne- Ted. XDDDDD
You should watch them, though; they're hilarious (and they're actually pretty good, too).

Back in 2007 when the new Nancy Drew movie (which I own) was coming out, the four original movies were released on DVD. You could get them that way; it was impossible to get all of them (I only had two before the four were released on DVD) before that. XD
Also, you could watch the 70's TV series called "The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries" (here's a link to a part of an episode: [link] I'm sure you could find more episodes on YT, too), the first and second seasons have been released on DVD (the second season has episodes where ND and the Hardy Boys team-up).
AND, there was a Nancy Drew TV movie back in 2002 which was meant to be a pilot episode (it got low ratings, even though it actually wasn't that bad).
There was also a 1996 TV series based on ND, but it's nearly impossible to find.

For some reason completely unknown to me in the film versions from the late 30's they changed his name from "Ned Nickerson" to "Ted Nickerson" (a couple of other people commented on just that): [link]
But yeah: as I said I've never read a Nancy Drew book, I've only seen the hilarious movies.
