I love the fact that the sky is washed out, and that they look like pillars instead of bricks. Great optical illusion, fantastic shot. I agree I don't have any critique, like someone else said.

actually if you look closely at it you can see a wood pattern. so me thinks wood blocks. sorry i just wanted to point that out lol. but yes its a very interesting photo.

oh :0.. nevermind stupid me didnt even read the description. but it does sorta have a wood pattern on it. but i suppose certain types of stone must look similar to that as well. sorry for the mixup

I recognised this as soon as I saw it... the thumbnail flashed up on the bottom of the screen but I didn't spot it until I'd already clicked off... it is a troubling, but very beautiful construction. Berlin, more than anywhere else has made me appreciate the beauty of concrete. It is not a whimsical beauty, but one laden with sorrows. There is much beautiful and sorrowful concrete in the former East Berlin.
I visited this place in February of this year, there were several inches of snow & the grid flooring was invisible... I also took some photos there. I should post them...
