Just a redesign, everybody knows that I love to draw Mario.I wonder how would be a Mario game that he was actually a proper plumber, using his tools to advance the level, I guess it would open space for some cool mechanics.

I'm reminded heavily of Spelunky, and I can see how his tools could be used in a game of a similar vein. His utility belt could act as an inventory, his wrench for attacking enemies, opening and closing entryways, his helmet being upgraded to jump and hit harder blocks, etc. There are many possibilities that could be gleaned from this concept, and it really shows.

Mario originally was designed to be a carpenter named Jumpman, but than was changed soon after. Cool fact. I will there was a game where he was a carpenter instead.

It would be a nice idea in a game, and unlike the new Sonic Boom game, this design doesn't makes Mario too much different from his original design, it didn't made him taller or anything, just different clothes, which is pretty nice.

Thanks! I'm not a fan of the new sonic neither (even the first redesign was not much of a advance for me). I like the rotund blue fellow more than the skinny one.
