Description
This is Arwen when she returns to the deserted woods of Lothlorien to die. I have never liked the way Tolkien ended Arwen's story. Unlike Luthian and Idril she seemed to regret her decision and would have changed her mind had it been possible. Mortality seemed a bitterness to her rather then a gift she shared with Aragorn to pass beyond the cares of Middle Earth.Model - [link] by =faestock

I love the picture, but I disagree with your idea that Arwen regretted her decision - more than Luthien and Idril she was thankful for the time she spent with her mortal man, and the only suffering she had was for his death, not her own. The bitterness came from her father, Elrond - they did not agree that she should stay. She was possibly regretful of the way she parted company with her father, but certainly that would not have deterred her from staying with Aragorn or caused her to regret doing so.
But anyway, back to the piece - it is gorgeous, I love the colours - it's just like she was portrayed in the Peter Jackson film - the same colours as her wedding gown, perhaps she was so broken that she put it back on to die in... Well, that's what I take from the picture anyway.
Good stuff, I really like it.

Thank you very much for disagreeing with me, I love your response. I think you're right that she would have made the same decision to stay with Aragorn. I guess what bothers me is that unlike Luthien and Beren or Idril and Tuor she and Aragorn were parted in the end. He died before she did, or more importantly before she was ready to die, before she had grown weary of the world. Thanks again for your comments I'm glad you liked it!
