Digital drawing of a lovely welsh pony called Heidehof's Heaven.I started off with the intention of making a speedpaint work, but this one took me at least 6 hours to make, so I wouldn't be calling it a speedpaint anymore. Nevertheless, no real detail in this one, I still kept it a 'quickie'.
I'm not satisfied with the proportions, she doesn't resemble the real pony at all. The ears seem too long and the profile too rough.
I am satisfied with the colours though, especially those used in the nose and in the manes. I spent more time on the colours than on anatomy.
What bothers me is that the mane attract too much attention because of the sharpness. I find it very difficult to keep the mane the same style as the rest of the image.

I like the mane; you don't make it "mop-ish" like other people or whatever the heck I do. And I don't think the mane attracts too much attention. Until I read your comic, my focus was around the eye. All in all, I think it's wonderful!

Ik kan me wel vinden in je eigen commentaar, maar desalniettemin vind ik het een mooi werk geworden! Het is net een echt schilderij in plaats van een digitale tekening. Heerlijk kleurgebruik en ondanks dat de manen inderdaad wat scherp zijn in vergelijking met de rest, ook daarin mooie kleuren en echt heel erg storend is het niet. (=
