My deviantart page is where I've gathered the drawings I've had made of him, I also have a tumblr at poison-trail.tumblr.com/ , but it's mostly just to reblog those same images.
His story is all in my head, and roughly spread around the description of drawings I've had made, since I never imagined people would ever be interested in knowing his story, I'll need to at least put those up to date

He was born from a father that made a living working in the forest, so that was passed on to him. There's a deeper meaning behind it, but the short version is that he's as much a curse as he is a blessing to the town. Also, lots of pranks based around his natural resistance to poison joke, because that never gets old!
The NMM part is a pivotal point to his story, since his wild, savage personality was turned against him to mop up the resistance in Ponyville during the events of the first episodes. That spell was broken before any serious damage could be done, though, that's what made him realize that despite his earth pony's link to the Everfree Forest, he's still a pony that deserves to have friends. So the poison joke is there, but it doesn't make him any less of a pony. ^^

Yes he is. According to the owner, he was created by Nightmare Moon as another possible obstacle for the mane 6 in the pilot episode, but she never stumbled on him so he just roams around in Everfree as a feral.

It's a little more complicated than that, he's a normal pony, but was turned basically feral during those events, then he went back to being a regular, silly pony.
