This is a guide of the basic anatomy and the physical differences that separate an Avatar hybrid from the Na’vi.
My personal suggestion is that you watch the movie too (if you haven’t already) . It’s a good movie.
Avatar means ’to descend’. Meaning when a god takes the form of a human and goes to earth. In this case however, it is a human taking the form of a Na’vi.
The Avatar body is an artificially created hybrid, grown in an amnio tank. The body has no personality of it’s own and is inert when not in human control.
Each avatar is specially made using the human pilot’s DNA. It is necessary to add the human genes to the link between avatar body and the pilot because an unmatched driver can’t connect with someone else’s avatar.
And because of the use of human DNA, the facial structure on an Avatar naturally resembles it’s human driver.
Foot notes:
**The queue on the Na’vi and Avatar is a bundle of neural interface on the base of the skull that is directly connected to the brain. It is used to communicate in a near telepathic connection. Especially with riding-creatures and Eywa.
The neural interface is protected within a meter-long braid.
Info taken from internet sites but mostly my own observation from the movie.

I wouldn't think you where a nerd or anything if you noticed that sort of thing. It only means that you payed enough attention to notice the differnce. Glad to have taught you something then.

I saw it in the trailers before the movie had premiere but I know some people didn't noticed even after seeing it twice.

Hm, I noticed the fingers and toes when I watched the movie a second time yesterday (and a friend told me about it) but not the eyebrows...

The eyebrows is a bit hard to noticed but if you look closely on those headshots during the movie it is noticeable.

Someone pointed out that the Na'vi queue is placed higher on the head than an Avatar's. I might be wrong on that.
But good references here, very useful.

That would be the braid. It's called a queue in the Guidebook to Pandora.
