Description A new piece I did today.
A dangerous and bleak environment, with 2 explorers spotting a city in the middle of the mountains.

Hope you like it!

edit: please full view it, as the compressed reduced version of deviantart looks terrible

I like the sense of mood, movement, and line contrast. It's also always nice to see that the textures look more painted rather than a photo texture overlay.

Superb piece, my friend! I really want to know how you get that eye with colours for depth and atmospheric haze, etc. You amaze me every time! I guess a good start is to draw on reference pictures, like landscape photos.

Great!

A picture like this takes me around 5 hours. It depends if I have a clear idea of what I'm going for

Oh my goodness! Great piece. The weird thing is I have been writing about a city in the mountains and it's been hard to figure out the mountain terrain in my head. This gives me inspiration!!!! THANK YOU!

Man, I am having real trouble deciding on which of your pieces to use as my desktop wallpaper...

Seriously, this is difficult, great job!

this looks really cool kinda reminds me of Dune... I like the horizontal rays of light from the windows, it makes it look like the atmosphere is really... musty

thanks! I was actually aiming for that kind of sci fi Dune feeling, so I'm glad you noticed it

I love each and every piece you do, but in the last few paintings you have stopped at a stage that still looks kind of sketchy, which is not bad, but please don't forget to do every now and then one of your beautiful, fully rendered images

Thank you very much I understand and I will be making "full" pieces soon. I just needed to do some quick ones in order to get back into the painting mood after a sort of long break
cheers
