If that warrior was in the Dark Souls Universe...
That tree would come alive and eat him...
Then he would respawn and go to that tree and get eaten again... and again... and again...
He would finally beat that tree and feel a great sense of accomplishment...
Then he would walk five steps and a giant armored warrior would fall out of the sky (i.e. The Pursuer)
and smash his face in with a shield and dance on his corpse...

And before he could get the souls back from his corpse, I would invade him in full Havel's Armor and destroy him

Composition and plastic of movement of the stranger are very good. Imho, it isn't enough depth in second screen landscapes and it's a bit too rough, but in the other hand it allows to focus view on the figure.

He is returning home, after a long campaign. It is both joyous and tragic at the same time. Most of his friends are dead; killed in battle, and he may never be able to properly adjust to his old life. The tragedy is that the knight has changed too much in his soul.
The joy is that since he is alone, any random encounters will bequeath him many solo xp's.
