great progression.
i think it looks like you are almost ready to move up and out of the world of heavily relying on photo referenced!

Thanks. I actually only use refs on occasions when I'm figure drawing for warm ups. That's how this started out. It wasn't even supposed to be a re-draw

Hey, I see a lot of improvement here. You obviously have a better understanding of light and shadow, and your rendering has improved. One thing I'd recommend is to not hide the hands in the poses you pick. I know hands are tough, but you'll only get better if you draw them, lots.Β
Also, perspective is off on the head and the neck and collarbone anatomy isn't quite right. Doing some studies from reference will help for sure.Β
Other than that, good job!Β

Uh... Thanks, but I didn't hide the hands and the anatomy is fine. I used a reference. Please don't critique artist's work without permission. That can be considered rude.

While it's very encouraging to get nothing but praise for a piece you post, those types of comments rarely help an artist improve. That's good you use reference. Next time pay a little more careful attention to the orientation of the clavicle in particular. I don't have your reference to look at, but I'm pretty sure you missed that as her arm is relaxed, yet the clavicle is up as though she's shrugging. Also, the head is pointing slightly down and to the left, but the facial features are pointing to the right. Drawing some still life's can help with perspective issues like that.Β
Also, her skin appears dull because you're just using a darker shade of the same color to shade. Typically, increasing the saturation in the shadows and even Β more in the midtones will help give it more life. And don't be afraid to go darker with the values on the arms just like you did, very nicely, on the torso.Β
I'd recommend checking out this one book called figure drawing, design and invention by Michael Hampton. It sure helped me a lot. Also, there are free books that are out of copyright that you can download online by Andrew Loomis. Figure drawing for all it's worth is a good one, also, drawing the head and hands.
Hope this helps! Β

I am not looking for critique on DA. It's simply a place to set up my gallery. If I wanted critique, I'd use the DA critique requested setting. I know how to improve and what to work on without your help. This was a quick doodle from a VERY simplistic group board. I personally do not like Hampton or Loomis.
