Thanks!  I probably spent more time on the lighting than any other part of it.  I've only been messing around with fractals for about 6 weeks and am just starting to get a feel for MB3D.  It certainly has a lot of features that I don't understand yet but am starting to understand how the lighting works.  It's so addictive but mostly just dumb luck when changing the parameters around!  Thanks for sharing your params.  I'd be lost without them!  Cheers!        /jim

MB3D is certainly addictive, I've been using it since the 1st public relase about 3 years ago. I had a lot of help from Jesse(the program creator) and other Fractal Masters from FractalForums in the beginning, the least I can do is share the knowledge I have gained with others...Cheers/Happy Fractaling

I spent a lot of time messing around with positional lighting.  IMO, that's what makes the finished piece.  If I can just figure out a way to save specular and diffuse color patterns, I could really cut my time down on this. 
You should play around with the params - a lot of possibilities.   Cheers!

There's so much going on with this app, sometimes it frustrates me when I see how others work with lighting and such.  I still haven't got a clue on how to use the post-processing.

What part of post processing di you want to know ? It is to set before you calculate your render , like say if you want a softer shadow you need to click the box under hard shadows it is mostly settings for reflections and ambient among other things you need to ask some of the best here like Hal Tenny he knows loads , check out some tutorials I think there is one about lighting too .

Just call me lazy.  I actually have a printed copy of a tutorial on lighting setting right in front of me but haven't taken the time to read it much.  LOL!
