What should we look forward to in volume 2?
From the RWBY wiki...
UPDATE: From what we got in Volume 2 (and subsequent volumes) so far, we have most of our questions answered,
-We now know who Cinder, Emerald, and Mercury are, but we don't know what their ultimate goal is or why they need Torchwick to be part of their plot, or why they need so much Dust...
-White Fang is helping him because he is a means to an end in their fight against humanity...
-Penny IS in fact a robot, or moreover, "the first synthetic person capable of generating an Aura"
-"Queen has pawns" could either be referring to Cinder or some other unknown evil that we might possibly not know about EDIT: now known to be referring to Salem
-Jaune's Aura (or Semblance as a matter of fact) is mentioned in the DVD commentary of Volume 1 to be likened to a shield, being protective in nature
-The "simple soul" is speculated to be Ruby, but I think it might Jaune (this trope has happened before, I know you guys are thinking it too 
-Yang could've possibly been searching for the whereabouts of her mother, and believed that Junior might know of a possible location for her, only he didn't...
-MOST OF ALL.... the reason why Ruby and Yang have different last names is because they're half-sisters!! Same dad, different moms. Their dad, Yang's mom, Summer Rose (Ruby's mom and also the same person whose name is inscribed on the gravemarker in the Red Trailer), and Qrow were all on a team together. Yang's mom left shortly after she was born, it is unkown if she is either dead or alive, and then Summer Rose fell in love with Yang's dad and gave birth to Ruby. However one day, Summer left for a mission and never came back...
Well, that clears up a lot of points on here...
....but still, it's fun to speculate! ^_^

Some answers and theories (not sure if you know these by now already or not though):
Answer:
The woman commanding Roman is called Cinder.
Theories:
Penny may be an android. (This is not confirmed, but some people of the wiki are highly positive of this and it does kinda make sense.)
The dust may be for a large-scale operation which will occur during the tournament between schools.
The significance of silver eyes may be a trait she got from her mother who Ozpin could've known.
The white cloak belongs to her mother who died trying to protect Ruby (This theory is very highly based on Red like Roses part II).
Ozpin, Glynda and Ruby's mother and/or Qrow could've been on the same team together.
These are all theories I either read somewhere or made up myself and think could actually be correct. If anyone has anything to add or speculate with me, please do share.

well it states that Summer ( the possible name of Ruby's mom ) died not saving her but going out on a mission and not coming home *see soundtrack version of red like roses part two* since the the part she represents she say "I thought I would see you when I made it back home" sounds like she was not home and when it says "I wasn't dreaming when they told me you were gone"sounds like Ruby was not there to see her mothers deathΒ

Actually, the White Fang working with Torchwick makes a lot of sense:
1. They're a terrorist group, so Torchwick's offer allows them to make easy money and get combat experience for their troops.
2. While it's going on, they can use Torchwick as a distraction while hitting other, more vulnerable targets.
And finally, it allows them a smokescreen for more deniable operations later on. After all, it's easy to claim to be a White Fang member, just get a emblem stitched on your jacket, toss on some fake ears...

1. Dust is highly volatile so maybe dust bombs scattered around Vale as a distraction for an attack on Beacon.

2. The White fang is helping because whoever is their new leader is in cahoots with the villains.

3-6 The red lady's name is Cinder. Her friends have not been named yet, but a theory is maybe they were all hunters together once.Β She and her friends are definitely up to no good. Torchwick is who the villains are using so they can stay in the shadows.

7-8. Penny is most likely some sort of android who wants to be human. Best guess is that she is based on Pinocchio.

9. Qrow is Ruby's uncle. Apparently he knowsΒ Ozpin. The message might be a reference to when people play chess and say things like: Knight takes Rook. This likely is a code for something.

10. Juane has a lot of aura power. My guess is that the Arc family has a history of large amounts of Aura.

you forgot to put a few things we still don't know, like "what are the different types of dust?", "how do Cinder's and Glinda's magicy powers work?", "does everyone have a semblance, or just some people?", or "do all faunus have to be based on mammals?"
