Not a terribly creative title I know...I based this drawing on a photograph taken by DJ Mech actually. I thought the photograph was just simply amazing and ever since I saw it, I knew I had to draw it! The original photograph can be seen here, [link]
Unfortunately, the drawing didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned it... I'm not too happy with some parts of it but it was a pretty difficult drawing to do - I just felt the pressure of getting the picture right because of my interest and support in the Marines. I just don't want to mess anything up, that's why.
Dedicated to that all Marines out there.

This is done well. I do understand how difficult their uniforms are to wanting them to be PERFECT! I did an art project with having to draw and color their service uniform. I spent forever on it. Luckily I had approval from my fiance, and I am sure he would approve yours as well.

Yes my fiance is a Marine. He is coming up on his second year in June. He is far most my best friend and will always have my heart for the rest of my life!

Yea I know... (About Americans not supporting the military). I am Malaysian. XD Sometimes I feel more American than Malaysian to be honest in the way I support the American troops. I try to do as much art as I can to honour them. I hope it's good enough. XD

Yeah most girls couldn't make it through the boot camp anyway. I don't know if I could either! Oh well, maybe if I work hard I can join the Army which is not as extreme. Navy possibly?

I agree with you on that. Not that I don't believe in the women's strength. I just think that women are more suited for other things. I think that Marines should just be a male career. I might sound misogynistic for that but oh well... I think Navy's a good alternative for women. It's close enough to the Marines. haha...

Yeah, I don't really agree on the whole "male career' thing, I mean anyone can do it if they put their minds to it but most women go into the Army or the Air Force. I wonder if I could possibly be in the Army if I get my lungs into shape...

Yeah but the physical aspect of it suits men more as men are more built that way. Not denying that women *can* do it if they put their minds to it but I feel like it's more suited for men. Besides men look better in their Marines Dress Blues. hahaha... Well don't give up if that's what you want to do!

No, my father retired. My brother went on tour for 13 months and came home, but he is going back next month.

My best friend's brother just graduated from Paris Island bootcamp; he's doing recruiting for a bit then going to his SOI on Nov. 2nd. A few months after that, he'll probably get deployed to Afghanistan. It's really hard for her, because her brother is like her rock. I'm making a montage for her; is it okay if I use this picture in it?

Awww that's so sweet of you to want to make that for her. I know how hard it'll be as my best friend's fiance is going to be deployed to Afghan again for the third time at the end of this year.
