Description
Some concept art for a Megaman related project I'm working on.Just a minor redesign of the character, incorporating some elements of the Legends design. Might be a bit too old looking, so future versions might look a bit younger.

I really, really like this design. I really like the robotic details on the armor, and the bit of hair sticking out from his helmet. You managed to both drive the point home that he's a machine, and yet still make him look "human". His expression lends to that too, as he looks kinda sad here. Nice job :3

agewise actually looks something younger than Trigger.

Yeah, that's true. I guess it's really early classic Megaman that it looks older than. In the later games, like 7,8, Megaman and Bass, he looked a bit more mature, but on the NES he definitely had a little kid look to him.

The classic design and Legends mesh very naturally here.

Thanks! I always liked the Legends design. It manages to be more robotic and more human at the same time.

Awesome! Love the style you're going with here. Lots taken from Legends I see (which is never a bad thing!) Looking forward to seeing more!

This new take on Mega Man would never hold up in today's market. Where's his feather boa?

I'm not even sure what that's in reference to. Is it about zazz? Does he not have enough zazz?

Oh... I actually DID know about this, but because it was for iOS I completely ignored it, had actually totally forgotten it. I saw the one screenshot on Siliconera and just kind of shrugged it off, because I'm never going to own an iOS device of any kind, so the game might as well not exist to me.
Yeah, didn't realize the fur collar was the central piece on the new design... thought maybe it was just a weird one off costume, like some of the insane transformations from the Battle Network and Starforce games.
This is actually kind of upsetting for two reasons. The first is obviously that a iOS social RPG is perhaps not the best fit for such an action oriented franchise. The second being that despite acting as if this is some kind of awesome culmination of the franchise's history, it looks REALLY cheap. I had no idea how bad the spritework was... like, those are just barely edited SNES sprites. I thought there would at least be hi-resolution assets in use. At least all of Capcom's other iOS games LOOK half decent...

They pretty much just called it a crossover so they could throw a bunch of Mega Man 7 sprites in there with Mega Man X1 bosses and stages. It's as cheap and lazy as humanly possible.
And remember: they canceled Mega Man Legends 3 for this.

So here's something that really gets me. Have you seen E.X. Trooper? Why the hell isn't that our new Megaman game? It practically looks like it's made from discared Legends 3 assets anyway.

Because actually making a good Mega Man game wouldn't satisfy Capcom's petty little grudge against Inafune like dragging his creations through the mud does. But hey, at least Inafking is keeping busy making mediocre RPGs for pedophiles, so that's something.

Uh... again, what on earth are you talking about? I have no idea what game you're referring to, but of the games that I am aware of under development with Inafune's involvement, Kaio King of Pirates, Soul Sacrifice, Yaiba, and J.J. Rocket, I'm not seeing the pedophilia...
I guess you're referring to Neptunia? Considering there are a handful of developers with their hands in THAT particular game, I'd say putting that squarely on Inafune is a bit harsh.
I don't really have an opinion on Neptunia, but all of Inafune's other games look interesting, even if I won't be playing most of them any time soon.

Ah, I don't really have any opinion on Neptunia. It's not awful. That was just a cheap shot. And I'm not sure exactly what Inafune's involvement even was in it. But he apparently mattered enough to get digitized into the game as a summon skill.

Well the game seems to have a big focus on referencing the game industry, so that probably was just a cameo. His new company, Comcept, allegedly did some work on the game, but again, there are ton of companies apparently involved in that series.
Based on the wiki page, it actually sounds kind of funny. Not my cup of tea, though.
