well, for a teleport failure, it could been worse. I remember when we checked the chances of failure, one of the options was to teleport a random body part to another location!

In D&D 3.5, youre are "scrambled" and take 1D10 hit points and roll again, so the damages may be cumulative. It didn't happen then, but if Laurylhee who was then level 15 could afford this damage, it was not the case for the two guys who were 1st level. One of them almost died.
