This reminds me of a really creepy book my parents got me as a kid. It was a creature who looked a lot like that monster, who would clean this boys closet for him. Eventually, it all went badly and the monster took control of the kid, let me remind you this was a children's book that I read when I was like five. THis is an awesome piece of art, keep up the incredible work.

I don't know why but this is one of my favorite things i've seen this week. I can't stop looking at all the small details put into this work. The use of colour and the expression are exquisitely done.

Oh this is great man. Of course the idea and the composition are good but dude look at the technique. Do you even realize how good you are?

Awwww jeez thank you! That's such a nice thing to say! I'm always trying to get better though so hopefully I keep on improving.

Of course we always improve and blah blah but it's also important to realize sometimes that you're actually very good. Well not too lose your head because of it. And certainly not to become a snob.

btw sorry but I want to sleep too much and I'm too lazy to write comments under all your works, but I'll try it some time. Also +watch

Haha of course! To me art is always about the artist - your endgoal is to become your own favorite artist. Just compile all the bits you like about others into one place and I know I'm slowly working towards that. So I always gotta like my stuff personally to some extent but it's easy to get discouraged looking at all my idols haha! It's a good balance though.
And haha! No worries. Have a lovely night and thank you!

I knew most f them except for Victo Ngai, and I see a lot of surrealists. I'm making a guess that it's your favorite direction, but how about some post-impressionists like Toulouse-Lautrec or Cezanne ?

I don't really think about my direction that way, moreso I just think of it as a field. I'm an editorial illustrator and so since there's a lot of metaphors and stuff visually it just makes more sense to go a surrealist route, yknow? I have had pretty much no classical art education so admittedly I had to look up both to remind myself of their work. Though I do get inspired by this stuff I'm usually more drawn to contemporary illustrators at the time being. Sort of a mentality like 'these are who I am competing with right now'. I don't feel like I'm good enough to even compare myself to the classic illustrators like that yet haha. When I achieve some goals I'll begin looking at them a lot more. I have a whole weird and convoluted thought process about that stuff.
