Woo. Okay! So I started this little project a few days ago. It's for #LoveOCs a club focusing on people and their original characters. They're having a little contest to make a mascot for the group.I was kind of hesitant whether I wanted to do a piece or not, but the idea of making a mascot for a group that focuses on creating characters was kind of intriguing.
You know, if it's a group about fantasy your mascot would probably be fantasy-ish. Sci-fi would be sci-fi-ish. But this group is about original characters of all types. I decided to make a character digitally creating herself. She is the character creator and her own original character.
Or something.
I'm leaning towards Eva as a name.

Nope, dunno who that is. It's the second time someone has told me that she looks like someone though so I guess the space-suit and sci-fi technology combo is pretty common. Someone else said it looked like an anime char from some manga. XD

haha, thank you. Yeah, I always try to give my females a bit more roundness to them. Fuller women just seem more natural to me, hehe.

I really, REALLY like this!! The aspects of her creating herself with all that digital technology is awesome. Again the color and detail is great, and I like the hairstyle on this one! Also the blue glows stand out to me. ...Not sure about the, wings? Though.
I can almost relate to this, since I looove making characters, and thus why I only have one character worth a real lot on GW haha.
I like Eva, it seems to fit her.

Wow, I'm not at all surprised you won. Not only is this very well drawn but it also has so much meaning backing it up- a character creator is the perfect mascot for a group obsessed with OCs! But the new contest is to draw one of the mascots and I've chosen this one but I'm not particularly good at drawing and the design is so complex XD I'm going to end up making a total mess of it... I was thinking of my entry being my character, Maiya, painting new characters and the pieces paper flowing towards Eva's screen and then Eva makes them come to life and they appear as actual characters along with Maiya and Eva, so they're basically creating them

Wow, that's an awesome idea, Tenjo! I really like the concept of the papers flowing towards her. I really wouldn't worry about making her look 100% the way that I did. Add your own twists and design sensibilities, maybe Eva can project herself in different ways, you know? And I love that you're incorporating your own character into it as well, it gives the contenst a bit more of a personal feeling!

Aww, I'm sure they'll get to it as soon as they can! Moderating groups is a lot of work, soo much artwork comes in every day it's very difficult to keep up with it all.

lol I guess it could be considered armor. It's basically just a portable computer screen with digital displays for keyboards. The grids around her arms let her move the whole boards with her hands or she can click them off and leave the screens hovering and use her hands for something else. I have way too much time on my hands haha.

Wow. So swimsuit = unoriginal now? It's not about the outfits, it's about the rest of the character as well. I liked the idea you used in this pic (of the floating tablet) instead of just drawing a simple pose. Personally I was a bit annoyed by all the "angel-winged catgirl" entries, but you don't see me going around the artists' pages and complaining....tastes differ.
