Description
This design is a winner in the BrickLink AFOL Designer Program and now available as a crowdfunded set, starting today (February 1, 2019): www.bricklink.com/v3/crowdproj…Built in a beautiful scenery next to a small stream, the Science Tower is dedicated to scientific research, experimenting, inventing and discovering. A small bridge crosses the creek and leeds under an apple tree into the multicolored four level building. A pair of scientists works here and is up to new discoveries!
The model features an original architecture and includes play features and interesting building techniques on a comparatively small footprint. Two minifigures are included. Although the model idea is based on real scientific accomplishments, its compilation and architecture also have a fantasy element.
The model includes these famous experiments and scientific equipment:
- Astronomical telescope in observatory dome with horizontal and vertical rotation (controlled by cogs/balls)
- Wind wheel on the roof for power generation
- Scales with weights
- Radio transmitter with telegraph key
- Chemical laboratory
- Pavlov’s dog experiment
- Schrödinger’s cat experiment
- Double-slit experiment
- Wings for flying experiments
- Steam machine with turnable wheel and piston in the cellar (controlled by cog/ball)
- Solar system model
- Mendel’s cultivation experiment with intermediate inheritance of four o'clock plants
- Newton’s falling apple
- And other things including an hourglass, compass, camera, sextant, microscope, gramophone and a big library!

Maybe I can't appreciate it the way a City/Modular fan would, but I'm not feeling this building. I dig the science theme, I really like that it has an observatory, but that exterior looks like a mash of random architecture.

I honestly find that to be the charm of this MOC.
