Description

A friend of mine asked for some drawings of the characters in his group's Dungeons and Dragons campaign. So, I did. He was very vague with descriptions and gave me an incredible amount of freedom to do whatever the hell I wanted. Unfortunately for me, I took the longest and most obnoxious route possible when it came to scanning and cleaning up the lines, so this took much longer than it should have. haha I want to practice coloring with it at some point, but not right now - too busy.

Monk - I was told that this monk warrior is alcoholic and wears spring-equipped shoes. The spirals on his face and costume are meant to reflect both inebriated dizziness and the coils of springs. I wanted to give him a cool hat, but it was vetoed.

Paladin - No idea where the Tim Burton-y spiral shell armor came from.

Half-Elf Cleric - The goal was to play into the more religious aspects of a cleric and less into the warrior/fantasy tropes. She serves a goddess called the Wildmother, and so trees became a central theme in her outfit. The hem of her dress, and her decorative crown, are made up of fabric pieces that float in place on their own (because magic), separated by root-like gaps.

Halfling Rouge - Wasn't sure what to do with him initially, but after deciding to make his hand cannon out of cubes, that was the look that I went with - recurring square patterns, down to the shape of his cape and hood.

Half-Elf Barbarian - The only instructions I was given were "steampunk lightning greataxe," and "based on Jason Momoa from Game of Thrones." I think I may have succeeded too much with that last part. haha The arm which holds electrified wheels, hanging from the midsection of his axe, can extend lower, so that he can place the axe horizontally on the ground and rush it forward like a train with the steam jets. The lightning tattoos on his body are not permanent, or fixed in place - they appear on his body to match the lightning that surrounds him. I wish he were a drow instead of a normal elf - if his skin were dark, and his hair and tattoos were white, he would look like a massive storm cloud amid all the steam and lightning.

Halfling Bard - He was supposed to have a lute, and I realized that, as a halfling, it would be about the same size as him, so the two should look the same. Following that, I came up with the idea that he should have a missing arm, and in its place, a folding metal rod which attaches his lute to his back like a backpack. When he needs to play it, the lute - which matches his armor - swings around to the front, and he plays it with the mechanical hand on the end of his sword.

Mondrone/Monodrone - I was given free reign to mess with the standard design, so I based his spherical head on a diver's helmet and worked from there.

Half-Elf Druid - Rather than a grand, elegant forest creature, like the typical elves and druids, I envisioned him as more of a homeless forest vagrant, a feral woodland creature covered in dirt and rags. His legs are meant to be a glistening red color, based on the baneberry/doll's eye plant. His ears are essentially flower petals.
