Description
I'm going to start uploading my monster drawings again. Some of these are old, some of these are new. Whatever. For the creature at the top, the idea was to create a being shaped like a speaker blasting a soundwave. I thought the idea of ring-shaped flaps of skin floating off the body was cool.
That thing in the upper right doesn't have a name. I considered calling it an African Mantaphant, but I thought that was too on-the-nose and kinda stupid.

By looking at the thumbnail, I mistakenly took the Marshmallion as Solgaleo from Pokemon- |D
Amazing work, as always, though!

I like the Mantaphant's design because it's kinda tribal, generally speaking; but to be honest, the tail does not convince me (maybe too spines?or more at its end?).
The upper creature (is Iobmm?sorry, not sure about what I'm reading) is cute and creepy at the same time; I like the way it moves :3. About the thing it has on its top, at first I thought it was a sort of brain, ops XD
Marshmallion: sweet. But that fire is gonna melt it (:
The Mooncalf is my favourite: I love your description of its reproductive/life cycle <3 Did you use any reference for the fetus?

Do you think removing the spikes from the tail would help? I wasn't really sure what to do with him.
Iohmm - sorry, I pick weird names and have tiny handwriting. XD Thanks! Well, it sort of IS a brain. haha
Yes, eventually. But first he'll get all nice and crispy.
Thank you! No, I just sort of drew it. I don't know what dead calfs actually look like and I was afraid to go on Google for that.

Possible option I can give you (random order):
a) Remove them all; mantas don't have spikes (as far as i know; which means that I search on internet and found nothing about; I'm absolutely not a biologist and my previous statement can be totally wrong!). To be honest, I'm not sure that I'd like this option because the tail would appear nude.
b) You could reduce the original number of the spikes.
c) You could add a sting at the bottom of the tail. searching for manta I found this: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whiptail… but this is a completely different family!
d) You could change the shape of the spikes, or their dimensions (curved, thin, short, long...)
e) You could mix two or more previous option.
f) Don't do nothing. Sometimes it's the best idea.
If you're interest, I've also found these (possible inspirations/ideas for the tail): www.scienze-naturali.com/wp-co… (but it's a ray, not a manta), www.tattootribes.com/multimedi… , www.thetattooartists.com/Triba… .
But I want to say this: it's your character, your idea, and I didn't want to say you what to do; because your mind is different from my and I prefer to see this difference than similarity. I mean, I'm not you and viceversa, and I want to see you in your drawings. I don't know if I managed to say what I originally wanted to.

(Late reply, sorry!)
A. I think you're right; the tail appearing nude is a mistake.
B. That's probably the right way to go.
C. Ooo, that thing's cool.
D. Another excellent idea.
E. Probably will.
Value your awesome input as always! Thank you!

Love the design of the mantaphant and the muunkahlf! The fetal look of the muunkahlf body is so disgustingly awesome, and the fusion of organic and non-organic parts looks amazing. And whatever that thing at the bottom is, it has one of the creepiest faces I have ever seen. The combination of a human-like face with those massive eyes is just unsettling.
