They've changed the lighting in that tunnel by now (I commute through it every day). Doesn't look as nice anymore, sadly.

I'm kinda happy actually, how that picture turned out. The 17β85 isn't exactly the best lens in terms of image quality.

Well, it's a tunnel for bicycles only, so no cars there. I just sat on the ground, took out the tripod and took a bunch of pictures about half a meter (~ 20 in) above the ground.

Yes, I've heard so much already. That was one of the reasons I didn't seriously consider an internship in the US. Especially since I'm not allowed to drive a car or motorcycle (licenses are pretty costly and with a bicycle and good public transport it's not actually necessary here).

with gas prices the way they are everyone's going to be on bikes soon enough

Won't happen anytime soon as there are quite huge industries built around the concept of everyone having their own car. And they will desperately cling to that as long as possible. So hybrid cars and electric ones will delay the inevitable but both concepts have the problem of too few resources to be an alternative. Ah well, we'll see
