Description
=Reposting some stuff I forgot to post here=Premise:
A digitigrade costume idea which would work especially well with Kim Graham's ([link] ) Digi Legs [link] which are in the process of being mass-produced and will hopefully be for sale at a reasonable price in the near future.

This would pretty much be my ideal kind of fursuit
Just for the fun of it I did a bit of a character sketch too, though actually having expressions like that would be far too difficult without embedding some kind of controller in the hand and having alot of complex animatronix in the head.
This particular sketch shows design elements from one of my earlier raptor custume sketches [link] , most notably the articulate jaw via a pulley system, allowing for an effective gearing of movement that enables the wearer to open the head's mouth through a far greater range of motion than the normal human jaw can achieve.
I've also been thinking about how to best create the effect of the toes/lower part of the foot actually curling under during a stride as they would with birds/other digitigrade animals. without this movement the toes would remain static and look very stiff when walking, not very organic.
The big thing is that, though getting the curling is relatively easy, having it be reliable and safe, without danger of stepping on the suit's own toes and causing a fall and possible injury to the wearer can be very tricky. This sketch shows two systems that could be used in tandem to emulate the curling during a stride as well as ensure that the toes flatten correctly upon stepping down.
1. Using a tendon cable from the wearer's ankle that goes through pulleys around the foot and to the toes, which causes them to curl down when the wearer takes their weight off their foot.
2. Using some kind of counter lever, perhaps disguised as a thumb-foot-claw, that manually pushes the toes up when putting the foot down
Of-course this is just brainstorming, and my approach is probably far too complex than what is actually required. Actual stilts would be needed for testing and seeing how practical these ideas really are.

Looks like it can work. When you get started on the actual piece post progress pics
