WOW. It's been a while. Here's some Flashlight for ya!

Twilight dove between two of the attacking pegasi and hit the ground rolling. With one blast from her horn, she sent them both tumbling through the air, feathers whipping away in the wind. Two down, ten more to go.

She was leading a patrol neat the Everfree. Luna had sent her a warning of an extremist group that had been raiding remote villages near Ponyville, and Twilight had decided it was time to try and talk the gang down.

Well -- to say the very least -- talking had gone out the window pretty fast, and now Twilight and her guards were fighting hoof and horn to keep their attackers at bay. Seven on Twilight's side and twelve on the other created an unfair game as it was, but it seemed that a few of the opposing unicorns were well-trained mages, blasting spell after spell into the fray.

As one of her soldiers barely managed to avoid a spinning wheel of light cast from one of the mages, Twilight narrowed her eyes, sending a a blazing beam of magenta away. It hit the mage square in the forehead, sending him reeling away.

"Smooth, Sparkles!"

Twilight smirked over her shoulder at the yellow stallion behind her. "I'd like to see you do better!"

Flash snorted. "Pu-LEEZE. I could do that in half the time if I had a horn." He ducked a kick from an earth pony and slammed a forehoof into his jaw. The pony collapsed. "And you forgot to call me something." He stuck his lower lip out. "You know how I like those pet names of yours."

"IN THE MIDDLE OF A BATTLE?!"

Since they had started dating, Flash and Twilight had started a tradition of making up as many nicknames for the other as possible.

"Sure! Besides, you wanna keep it even between us, right, Fruit Loop?" He batted his eyes at her. "Now I've got two names on you."

Rolling her eyes, Twilight sent another magical blast at an attacking unicorn. "Fine, DORK." She kicked an earth pony towards him. "Catch, Sunflower!"

"Sunflower?!" Flash headbutted the flailing pony, watching in mild curiosity as he collapsed unconscious to the ground. "I'd prefer something a little more masculine than that, Sugar Plum."

Twilight gagged. "Ugh. Sappy names are a little behind the times, Lemon Drop."

"I beg to differ, Gorgeous."

"Shall we agree to disagree, Ace?"

"I agree that we should agree to disagree, Egghead."

"Getting a little derogatory there, are you, Captain Casanova?"

"I would never, my little Lucky Charm." Flash body slammed another pegasus out of the air and tumbled through the wet grass with him. A few well-aimed strikes to the head and his opponent was out cold. "Would calling you Supernova make up for it?"

"It might get you headed on the right track, Mister Swee--"

"WILL YOU TWO LOVEBIRDS STOP FLIRTING AND COME HELP US OVER HERE?!"

I'm sorry. I couldn't help it. I saw this drawing (Grape Juice and Lemon Fizz ) and couldn't help but COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY SHIP THESE TWO DORKS AND HAVE THEM FLIRT WITH EACH OTHER CUZ THEY'RE RIDICULOUS.

a-HEM. Anyhoo, not much to note artistically speaking. I've tried a bit of a new thing with wings and I curved Twi's horn slightly. The rain was fun, as were the lines.
