One figure towered above all others. Armoured in layered ceramite of gold and bronze, he watched the oculus with narrowed eyes. Where others bore a smile, he carried a slit of scar tissue and cracked teeth. Like all of his brothers, he resembled his father as a statue resembles the man it was raised to honour. Yet this statue was flawed by cracks and blemishes β a twitch in the muscles around his eye, a scarred ravine running along his shaven skull.

Honestly, angron is my favourite of all the primarchs having read betrayer and conqueror, I adore the tragic nature of his character and the depth Aaron Dembski Bowden has given to him and to see that level of depth in this is really cool ^-^Β
When you think about how Angron merely needed the Emperor to show just the merest fraction of empathy and sympathy for Angron then who knows who he may have been. Being able to sympathise with Angron and the world eaters is a very interesting sensation when I think about how much I used to dislike the idea of them when I first began looking into the grimdark all those years ago.

You really captured how tortured he was. Β It's so often forgotten that Angron wasn't really a villain, in fact he hated tyrants and oppression, but he was driven to madness by the Butcher's Nails. Β He fought it for as long as he possibly could before being turned into a Daemon Prince by Lorgar.

A. Dembski-Bowden really did a number on the character and i'm really grateful for that - the story i took the title of my other Angron picture from will always be one of my favorites, because it really makes you sympathize with a man that everyone else sees as nothing but a twisted monster. i can relate to Angron, of all people, on a certain level.
